Spose and MC Lars release the song you’ve been waiting for: the “Pokemon Go! Rap”

Well, it’s happened, folks: there’s a Pokemon Go rap song. And, as Mainers will no doubt be pleased to hear, it features Spose, the pride of Wells and the self-proclaimed King of Maine.

MC Lars, a “nerdcore” rapper, managed to turn the song around in a matter of weeks, enlisting Spose to contribute a few verses. While it initially appears to be a loving tribute to the game that’s taken over the lives of millions, the last half of the song has a bit of a biting critique of the fact that while there’s lots and lots of insane things happening in the world today, there are a lot of people who would much rather focus on catching a Snorlax.

Anyway, listen to the song above and see what you think. Here’s some behind the scenes footage from the video shoot. It has naughty language, so don’t watch it if you don’t like that sort of thing.
